The entrance to Njegoš's mausoleum is guarded by two female caryatid-like figures, made of black granite. the interior of one of the most famous features of Montenegro is made of marble from Boka and Brač, while the vault is completely covered with mosaic, which required over 200,000 gilded tiles.
The famous sculptor Meštrović presented Njegoš in a sitting position, with an open book, while the sculpture of Bishop Rade over a marble sarcophagus was presented quite simply - in a long state uniform, with a carved cross in his hand, as a symbol of spirituality and secular authority.
